THE VINEYARD ROSE RESTAURANT AT SOUTH COAST WINERY RESORT & SPA EARNS 2025 WINE SPECTATOR “AWARD OF EXCELLENCE” FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

TEMECULA, Calif. – The Vineyard Rose Restaurant at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence marking its third consecutive year receiving the honor. The acclaimed dining venue remains one of only four restaurants in Temecula to earn this distinction.

Wine Spectator’s judges praised the restaurant’s wine list, which features 150 selections and a cellar inventory of 1,800 bottles. The list is primarily composed of South Coast Winery’s award-winning wines, recognized in national and international competitions, placing a strong emphasis on exceptional California varietals. A thoughtfully curated selection of global wines rounds out the offerings. Each bottle is presented with detailed information and expertly served by the knowledgeable sommelier team.

The Vineyard Rose Restaurant offers a contemporary Californian menu for lunch and dinner in a Tuscan-inspired setting, with an open-beamed dining room, wine bar and terrace overlooking 63 acres of estate vineyards. Signature dishes from Executive Chef Jonathan Alcala include Vegetable Bolognese with pappardelle, stewed vegetables, broccolini pistou and parmigiano and Salmon with wild mushroom congee, legumes, shaved carrots and chermoula.

“Once again we thank Wine Spectator magazine for this designation and for its commendable work in advancing wine education and industry communication,” said Jeff Carter, president of Carter Hospitality Group and owner and operator of South Coast Winery Resort & Spa. “Cheers to our exceptional team of hospitality professionals, to our master winemakers Jon McPherson and Javier Flores and to all the visitors to Temecula Valley who continue to support our vineyard and culinary program.”

This year’s Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards recognized 3,811 wine programs across all 50 states in more than 80 countries and territories. A total of 1,704 establishments received the 2025 Best of Award of Excellence, each required to offer at least 350 wine selections. The full list of winners – including recipients of the Grand Award, Best of Award of Excellence and Award of Excellence – can be found online at WineSpectator.com and will be published in the August 31 issue of Wine Spectator available on newsstands mid-July.
