TEMECULA, Calif. – South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, amidst the vines that have produced thousands of award-winning wines, is a wonderful Temecula winter retreat for celebrating favorite holidays of the season – Thanksgiving and Christmas. Its annual Tree Lighting Festival event held on Sunday, November 28, delights families with seasonal treats to eat and drink, live holiday singing, a visit with Santa and much more. At The Vineyard Rose Restaurant, friends and family will savor the best of the season from special Thanksgiving and Christmas menus that they can pair with select South Coast Winery wines chosen from its outstanding wine collection.

Sunday, November 28, from 5 to 8 p.m.
South Coast Winery Resort & Spa’s outdoor Tree Lighting Festival is full of fun and holiday surprises for the whole family. A wonderful variety of seasonal-inspired dishes, assorted Christmas cookies and other delicious desserts will be available, along with a hot chocolate and cider station. Entertainment includes Christmas carolers and a DJ playing holiday music. There will also be tractor rides, horse and carriage rides, arts and crafts, photos with Santa, and the exciting tree lighting begins at 6 p.m. South Coast Winery Resort & Spa is proud to be an official Toys for Tots drop-off location and encourages guests to bring new, unwrapped toys to donate to less fortunate kids.

Thanksgiving À La Carte Dinner at The Vineyard Rose Restaurant
Thursday, November 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Executive Chef José Esparza has created an à la carte Thanksgiving menu featuring seasonal American cuisine to be enjoyed in the open-beamed, Tuscan-inspired dining room of the comfortably chic The Vineyard Rose Restaurant. To start this festive meal, options include a 4X Golden Bear Charcuterie Plate or Calamari Fries with spicy marinara and other choices. Soup and Salad offerings include Butternut Squash Bisque with roasted pepitas and crème fraîche and Arugula Salad composed of pear, pomegranate seeds, toasted almonds, blue cheese, balsamic reduction and estate olive oil. A wide selection of Entrees (many gluten-free) lists Skuna Bay Miso Salmon with Nori rice, edamame, baby bok choy, soy caramel, scallions and sesame seeds; Slow Roasted Turkey Breast accompanied by whipped potatoes, herb stuffing, yams, cranberry sauce and turkey gravy; and Braised Short Ribs with white cheddar polenta, roasted root vegetables and natural jus. Traditional Pumpkin Pie, New York Cheesecake, Baked Apple Crostata and South Coast Riesling Bread Pudding are on the Dessert menu.

The Vineyard Rose Restaurant’s À La Carte Christmas Feast
Friday, December 24, and Saturday, December 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Holiday guests enjoy a winter-inspired celebratory Christmas meal at South Coast Winery’s The Vineyard Rose Restaurant – prepared by Executive Chef José Esparza and his culinary team – served in a lovely dining room surrounded by vineyard views. Diners may start with Chilled Shrimp Cocktail; Roasted Brussels Sprouts with pancetta, Granny Smith apples, sunny side up egg and apple cider; or other Openers. Soup and Salad options include The Vineyard Rose Salad composed of field greens, cucumbers, roasted grapes, dried cranberries, local chèvre, candied pecans and white balsamic vinaigrette; Coast Caesar Salad; and Butternut Squash Bisque. Many of the Entrees are gluten free, including Grilled Filet Mignon with confit potatoes, wild mushrooms, asparagus, red wine reduction; Roasted Jidori Chicken Breast with pommes puree, heirloom carrots, peas, cipollini onion, celery ribbons, natural jus; and Skuna Bay Salmon. Also, Lobster Ravioli, Angus Prime Rib and Slow Roasted Turkey Breast are on the menu. For the sweet and tempting finale of this feast, Triple Chocolate Cake, Gingerbread Pudding with Vanilla Custard Sauce and fresh berries, South Coast Riesling Bread Pudding with vanilla ice cream and vineyard trail mix are some of the Dessert choices.
