HANDS FOR HAITI NOW LAUNCHES FIRST FUNDHands for haiti
RAISING DINNER AT SOUTH COAST WINERY TO
BENEFIT HOPE FOR HAITI NOW

February 18, 2010  - (Temecula, CA) –

In response to the Haiti earthquake, a group of some of the area’s finest chefs have gathered together with local volunteers and the staff at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa to host the first Hands for Haiti Now community dinner on March 20, 2010.  The purpose of the dinner is to raise money for Hope for Haiti Now, a non-profit organization devoted to raise money to assist the people of Haiti.
The South Coast Winery dinner event is being managed by Chef Leah Di Bernardo, Executive Chef of Delyte’s Fine Foods and Dean Thomas, Executive Chef of South Coast Winery Resort & Spa. They will oversee the preparation of a locally foraged five-course dinner paired with wines from South Coast Winery, winner of California’s Golden Bear award the last two years.
Chef’s Leah and Dean will be accompanied by Michael MacDonald, Executive Chef of Top of the Market, Bernard Guillas, Executive Chef of LaJolla Beach & Tennis Club and Duncan Firth, Chef De Cuisine of Barona Resort & Casino.
The South Coast dinner will launch the Hands for Haiti Now series of dinners to be held in 12 cities over the next 12 months. The idea behind the events is to keep the Haiti earthquake in front of people so they are reminded that this tragedy is not over and the people of Haiti will need help rebuilding their country and their lives for many years to come.

“We are excited to launch this series of dinners at South Coast Winery and look forward to taking this event across our great country over the next 12 months.   As a chef and a passionate advocate for bringing people together at the table, I feel this is an epic way for people to support a cause as worthy as Haiti.  I am proud to spearhead this effort and look forward to digging in and creating a memorable journey of food with great chefs, wineries and restaurateurs,” said Leah Di Bernardo, Executive Chef, Delytes Fine Foods.
The dinner event will be held on March 20, 2010 in the South Coast Winery ballroom located at 34843 Rancho California Road Temecula, California. Tickets are $125.00 per person with reserved tables and sponsorship packages also available at special discounted prices.
